Hachis Parmentier

Image
Hachis Parmentier is a traditional French dish consisting of mashed potatoes and baked potatoes, chopped or minced meat and Lyonnaise sauce. The combination of these ingredients is then traditionally placed in potato skins and baked. The dish is named after the famous French inventor and nutritionist Antoine-Augustin Parmentier, who is always looking for new ways to incorporate potatoes into French gastronomy. Hachis Parmentier is known as the French version of the famous shepherd's pie. This delicious dish also provides a great way to use up leftovers from other meals.

Steak-frites

Steak-frites, which translates simply as steak and chips, is a dish that traces its origins back to French and Belgian national cuisine. French fries in this classic range from hand-cut rustic potato wedges to thin, factory-made types. They are always deep fried, giving them a crunchy texture and an attractive golden color. While french fries are the main accompaniment, the steak is the main star of the dish. The most common steak used in the dish is the rib cut, but sirloin steak, or the famous T-bone, is also commonly found on restaurant menus. The dish is usually accompanied by a simple sauce, BĂ©arnaise or Hollandaise sauce. Steak and chips is one of the most common dishes found in traditional French and Belgian pubs and bistros, where a glass of fine Belgian beer or French wine serves as an irreplaceable accompaniment.
